30th Nov 2020 – A gaur went on the rampage leaving on person dead at least 10 others injured at College Para in Dhupguri of Jalpaiguri District and took shelter in a water tank.
Foresters shot five pellets and tranquilised the animal, while it took full five hours to do that. It was after 20 long years people of Dhupghuri saw a Gaur hitting the streets of Dhupghuri Municipality area. People are in a dilemma from where the animal entered the town of Dhupghuri.
Later the animal was released at Khuttimari Forest.
