A tusker ventured into NH-31 near Madarihat Choupathi from Jaldapara National Park on 29th of September 2019. Bringing traffic to a halt. It is learnt that the elephant was of huge size and it sparked panic in the locality.
Forest officials from Madarihat range of Jaldapara National Park reached the spot and managed to chase the animal away into the forest.
It is learnt that it was about 10:00 pm when the tusker hit the highway and roamed for a while. No injury to human life or damage to property is reported.
