South Khayerbari Tiger Rescue Centre will be reconstituted as Zoo & Research Centre for animals. Hon’ble Forest Minister for the state of West Bengal Mr Binaykrishna Barman informed us that the number of enclosures for animals will be reduced to 6 from 10 at present, as per the recommendation of Zoo Authority of India. On 23-hectare area international standard leopard safari would be developed. As per Mr Barman Tiger, Leopard, Himalayan Bear and along with other animals would be kept here.
