Day 1
Jayanti River & Chunia Watchtower Jungle Trails
- Meet and greet by our representative at Alipurduar Junction Station. Proceed for Jayanti. En-route we will viist Rajabhatkhawa Museum.
- Check-in at a homestay in Jayanti.
- Sumptous Lunch and possibly a quick power nap. At 3:00 pm, go for Chunia and Bhutia Basti Watchtower Safari (allowed in Taxi Vehicle). The trail through Jayanti River and Baje Khola River is famous for Leopard sighting. There is a salt lick at Chunia Watchtower. Bhutia Basti Watchtower is located adjacent to an artificial water source. It is likely you may encounter wildlife at both the towers.
- Return to homestay. Evening Tea with snacks. Dinner – Off to bed. Overnight Jayanti.
Day 2
Buxa Fort Trek & Hiking to Pokhri Lake
- After Breakfast. Trek to Buxa Fort(Last vehicle-accessible point – Zero Point). One way trek from 28th Mile to Buxa Fort is about 1 hr. Return to homestay.
- After Lunch, hike to Pokhri Lake. This small wetland on high altitude is home to several species of fish(a large number of catfish) and turtles. The trek from Jayanti to Pokhri passes through the beautiful forest. This site lies close to the Core-Buffer boundary. Tashigaon Watch Tower is on way. Pokhri is considered holy both Hindus and Buddhists.
- Return to homestay. Evening Tea with snacks. Dinner – Off to bed. Overnight Jayanti.
Day 3
Sikiajhora Boat Safari - Check-in at Chilapata
- After breakfast, we will proceed for Chilapata. Check-in at homestay in Chilapata
- After lunch and possibly a quick power nap, we will proceed for Sikiajhora.
- Sikiajhora is called the “Sunderban of Noth-Bengal”. Sikiajhora is a rivulet which meanders through the Buxa Tiger Reserve. Enjoy country boat ride through Buxa Tiger Reserve. It is likely the boatman will narrate you leopard stories and their daily struggle with the elephants. If you are lucky you may find elephant herd devouring ‘Chalta’- favourite food for elephants.
- Return to home. Evening Tea with Snacks - Dinner – Off to bed. Overnight at Chilapata.
Day 4
Chilapata Jungle Safari
- Early morning Jungle Safari of Chilapata. Chilapata is known for its dense canopy, gigantic King Cobras and the ruins of the fort of Nal Kings. Our vehicle will take you to the Safari ticket Counter.
- Return from Safari. Have breakfast. Check-out from the homestay. Proceed for the historic town of Coochbehar.
- Day visit of Coochbehar Town. Visit places like - Coochbhear Palace, Madanmohan Bari and Sagardighi. Lunch at Coochbehar
- Drop at New Coochbhear Station for onward return journey.
