Tourist visiting Baikunthapur Forest of Jalpaiguri, would be served with Dekhi-chata rice and various products made of milk. Bullock-cart ride would be available to explore places in and around Baikunthapur Forest. There will be facility for boating. All this will be done by Jalpaiguri Baropatia Gram Panchayat to develop Baikunthapur and surroundings for village tourism. On an area of 70 bigha, work is going on to make a huge water-body and 20 cottages will be constructed around the water-body. Blue-print to develop the Eco-Park has been finalised.
Tourist coming to Baikunthapur would be able experience village culture as cottages will have a rustic look but fitted with all modern amenities. Meals provide to the tourists will be cooked from fresh local vegetables and fishes from the pond.
An Eco Tourism Park would be developed for the children and old people to spend some quality time in peace and tranquility.
This project when ready would create job opportunities for 200 people.
