Black Panther pair seen by tourists at Buxa Tiger Reserve

17th January 2020 – A pair of the Black Panther were captured in-camera by guide Lekhu Mahato.

He was returning with a group of tourists from Boro Mahakal area of Buxa Tiger Reserve when he saw the pair in the hilly terrain.

Other forests/ National Park’s of North Bengal where Black Panther has been recorded are – Gorumara National Park, Jaldapara National Park, Neora Valley and Mahananda Sanctuary.

In case of extreme cold, Black Panther’s migrate downhill in search of prey. Sighting of Black Panther is a testimony of the rich wildlife diversity of Buxa Tiger Reserve.
