14th August 2021 – On 05th August 2021 a Gaur ransacked villages like Tesimla and Bidhannagar. Memories of this incident was quite fresh in the minds of people of Dooars. Again, on 13th August a old woman of Milanpally of Mal Sub-division was killed by a gigantic Gaur.
The woman went for morning walk. Suddenly she was attacked by the Gaur and she succumbed to the injuries.
The gaur from Gorumara National Park entered Mal town after crossing Mal River. Forest Officials and police reached to the spot and tranquilised the animal. It was relocated to Gorumara National Park with the help of earthmover and was kept under surveillance of veterinary doctors. However, it died.
